Qualifications

  • KINDERGARTEN TEACHER

      • This position is responsible for the teaching, daily supervision, and management of a classroom with a ratio of 10:1.
      • The teacher will plan, implement, and supervise the daily program for the class in accordance with the philosophy of LeafSpring School.
      • Incorporate principles of age-appropriate growth and development and developmentally appropriate practice in daily lesson plans.
      • Teacher the Kindergarten standards of learning, the common core curriculum standards as well as standards from the Virginia Department of Education and Hanover County.
      • Inspire children to learn through play (LeafSpring School utilizes a play-based approach).
      • Encourage child-directed, project-based learning
      • Manage children as they more to extracurricular activities such as Gym, Art, Science, Library and Outdoor Play to help learn transitions they will be doing once in public school.
      • Instruct using an enriched curriculum in English/Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, and small group times.
      • QUALIFICATIONS:
        • A degree and current Virginia teaching certification in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development, or other child-related fields.
        • 1 or more years of classroom experience
        • Excellent classroom management skills
        • Ability to create lesson plans
        • Ability to track student progress
        • Excellent communication skills
        • Current CPR/First Aid certification (will be provided upon hire by company if needed)
  • DIRECTOR

      • Must possess a love for children and an ability to relate well with them, their families and teachers,
      • Must be a graduate of an accredited college or university with an emphasis in child development or a related field. Master of Science in Education preferred.
      • Must have at least three years of full time teaching and/or administrative experience in programs for young children.
      • Must have at least one year administrative experience.
      • CPR certified or obtains certification within six months of employment.
      • First Aid certified or obtains certification within six months of employment.
  • ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

      • Must possess a love for children and an ability to relate well with them, their families, and teachers
      • Must have a baccalaureate degree in Elementary Education or other child-related field.
      • Must have at least two years experience teaching young children in a group setting with at least one year in a supervisory role, preferably in a NAEYC accredited program.
      • CPR certified or obtain certification within six months of employment.
      • First Aid certified or obtain certification within six months of employment.
  • CURRICULUM SPECIALIST

      • Must possess a love for children and an ability to relate well to them, their families, and staff.
      • Baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or other child-related field. Prefer one year experience in NAEYC accredited program.
      • Three years experience teaching children in a group setting.
      • CPR certified or obtains certification within 6 months of employment.
      • First Aid certified or obtains certification within 6 months of employment.
  • GET WELL PLACE COORDINATOR

      • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
      • Current nursing license.
      • At least two years of recent pediatric experience.
      • CPR certified.
      • First Aid certified.
  • GET WELL PLACE RN

      • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
      • Current nursing license.
      • At least two years of recent pediatric experience.
      • Valid First Aid certification.
      • Successful completion of a physical assessment course prior to or within the first six months of employment.
      • Valid CPR certification.
  • GET WELL PLACE LPN

      • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
      • Current nursing license.
      • At least two years of recent pediatric experience.
      • Valid First Aid certification.
      • Successful completion of a physical assessment course prior to or within the first six months of employment.
      • Valid CPR certification.
  • ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

      • Pleasant, gracious, and courteous manner with an ability to relate well with the public.
      • High school diploma required, some college preferred.
      • Minimum of at least one year experience working with the public.
      • Competency in the following clerical skills to include, but not limited to:
        • Typing
        • Filing
        • Record keeping
        • Telephone systems
        • Computer
      • CPR certification or obtain certification within six months of employment.
      • First Aid certification or obtain certification within six months of employment.
  • KITCHEN MANAGER

      • Associates Degree or greater in Nutrition, Food Service and/or Certified Food Service. Management Certification (complete within first year of employment) or related field.
      • Must possess a love for children and an ability to relate well with them, their families, and teachers.
      • Must be at least 18 years of age.
      • Two-year minimum of foodservice cooking experience.
      • CPR certified or obtains certification within six months of employment.
  • COOK

      • Must possess a love for children and an ability to relate well with them, their families, and teachers.
      • Must be at least 18 years of age.
      • Two-year minimum of foodservice cooking experience.
      • CPR certified or obtains certification within six months of employment.
  • LEAD TEACHER/RECREATION COUNSELOR

      • Must possess a love for children and an ability to relate well with them, their families, and teachers.
      • Baccalaureate degree in early childhood education, child development, or other child-related field and with a minimum of one (1) year experience teaching young children in a group setting.
        • OR Baccalaureate degree in a non-related field and 18 early childhood education or education credits and a minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching young children in a group setting.
        • OR Associate degree in early childhood education, child development, or other child-related field with a minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching young children in a group setting.
        • OR CDA certificate in early childhood education with a minimum of four (4) years experience teaching young children in a group setting.
      • Minimum of at least one (1) year of experience in a NAEYC accredited program preferred.
      • CPR certified or obtains certification within six months of employment.
      • First Aid certified or obtains certification within six months of employment.
  • TEACHER/RECREATION INSTRUCTOR

      • Must possess a love for children and an ability to relate well with them, their families, and teachers.
      • Baccalaureate degree in early childhood education, child development, or other child-related field and with a minimum of one (1) year experience teaching young children in a group setting.
        • OR Baccalaureate degree in a non-related field and 12 early childhood education or education credits and a minimum of one (1) year of experience teaching young children in a group setting.
        • OR Associate degree in early childhood education, child development, or other child-related field with a minimum of one (1) year of experience teaching young children in a group setting.
        • OR CDA certificate in early childhood education with a minimum of two (2) years experience teaching young children in a group setting.
        • OR 18 credit hours of early childhood education or education courses with a minimum of three (3) years experience teaching young children in a group setting.
        • OR Seven (7) years of experience teaching children in a group setting.
      • Prefer one (1) year of experience in a NAEYC accredited program preferred.
      • CPR certified or obtain certification within six months of employment.
  • ASSISTANT TEACHER/RECREATION ASSISTANT

      • Must possess a love for children and an ability to relate well with them, their families, and teachers.
      • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or other child-related field.
        • OR Current CDA certificate in Early Childhood Education and one-year teaching young children in a group setting.
        • OR 6 credit hours of Early Childhood Education courses and three years experience teaching young children in a group setting.
        • OR High school diploma and four years experience teaching children in a group setting.
      • Prefer at least one year experience in a NAEYC accredited program.
      • CPR certifies or obtain certification within six months of hire date.
